STRIKE A CHORD CONCERTS FOR CHARITY supports nonprofit organizations by raising money and awareness through benefit concerts. Since 2007, 11 concerts have raised nearly $20,000 for: the Gulf 2 Fund, which sends weekly care packages to local troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, School on Wheels (sowma.org), which provides educational resources and advocacy for children and their families experiencing homelessness, The Home for Little Wanderers (thehome.org), the nation's oldest child and family service agency, and Art beCause Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating the environmental causes of the disease. More than 50 Boston-area musicians have generously offered their time and talent to make these fundraisers possible.
